Trying to Measure Up is Exhausting

Truly, I urge you to take the pressure off. Subtly and pervasively, you have been ingrained to be constantly doing, ‘performing’, accomplishing, and ‘succeeding’. It must be exhausting, always trying to measure up to self-imposed standards of perfection. My expectations are radically different. Certainly I appreciate your effort, drive, and skills; but I also appreciate quiet time spent with Me, without agendas. Practice a spiritual aim of being present in the moment, and perhaps less time-oriented. Just “be”, and see the benefit of My peace descending as a result.

My Hand Is Orchestrating Next Steps

Take note of My Glory today: brilliant colors and light teeming all around; life alive in nature. Notice these things intentionally and find the direct impact this has on uplifting your Spirit. I work in ways like that. Whenever you’re weighed down by stress and pressure, try to stop and realize I am already at work all around you. My hand is orchestrating next steps and all that is necessary for My kingdom’s work. Allow My will in your life to take the lead. Step back and take note of what I am doing, increasing your confidence.

Stress Is Taking A Toll

I see you having a hard time with all those jumbled thoughts, making you feel under so much pressure. The stress of feeling like you must be on top of things all the time is taking a toll. Come to Me. Come in even closer this time, and breathe. I am already assisting you. Help is here. You just need to remember to trust Me with all of it. No detail is too small or goes unnoticed by Me. Now, add a little more self-care to the mix, trusting that there will be time enough for everything because I’m helping. I call you to calmer ways and I’ll keep providing exactly what is needed to get you through today.

Let Your Heart Be Reassured

‘Do not let your heart be discouraged’. Your emotions are real, and allowable. Difficult times will swell up now and then, and it’s reasonable and normal to feel things like distress, anxiety, sadness, or annoyance. By the phrase ‘do not let your heart be discouraged’, I am not saying don’t feel discouragement. Instead, I am guiding you to still acknowledge the truth of how you feel, but to also place it before Me to help you handle. I’m asking you to not let it rule your day or consume your thoughts. Instead, ‘let your heart be reassured’: I’m here, and I’m with you and for you, always.

Take a Break from Constant Pressure

I know you intimately, including your good intentions and efforts to do right in the world. Remember, though, that your value is not placed in works. Your worth comes from who you are innately, by My design. Your attributes, skills, interest, passions, and flaws all combine into a divinely beautiful package. Don’t be afraid to laugh at yourself today, enjoying your crazy, silly side, too. My ways are serious business but include laughter and joy. Take a break from the constant pressure to plan, preside, and predict. Look for the lighter side of things today as you practice relaxing. You can lighten up with My help.

This Yoke Is Shared

Rely on Me for help when you feel weary. This yoke is meant to be shared between the two of us. Look for Me in the tiniest details and consider it evidence of My great Love for you. A warm beverage or blanket on a cold, rainy day; the splash of fall color on a leaf; a moment of calming quiet in the middle of a chaotic day. The number of ways I choose to surround you in abundant Love can easily be overlooked or imperceptible to you, yet I am with you always, – making the load manageable.

Trust-Filled Words

Take the pressure off yourself. I’ve got this, and you are already in My protective care. Remember to pause, intentionally stopping to acknowledge Me. After all, I’m the One in charge, but not in a condescending or demanding way. I want what’s best for you and for those around you. Stop and say, “I do trust You, Lord. I know and believe You love me and You are taking care of things.” Everything lines up better when you utter trust-filled words of faith like this.

Bit By Bit

Go easy on yourself. Bit by bit, things will get done. You don’t have to give in to being frantic. I make things manageable when you realize it is My agenda you serve today. Give yourself some of My Grace, and offer it to others. Even if it looks on the outside like things aren’t coming together, you can rest assured that My design is Good and well-thought-out. I need you right where you are today and I’m working to bring Good out of suffering. I never expect perfection, – only a willing Spirit.

Rest In My Capable Hands

I know your heart is aching. You want connection, and I hear you longing to do what is “right” but worrying that you’re missing the mark. Let Me take care of you today. Attend to the things you need to do, but don’t get mistakenly weighed down by thinking it’s all up to you. Picture Me bearing the brunt of the decision-making and choices. Rest in My capable hands taking charge as you follow alongside Me. Think of it as going along for the ride with Me as your guide and chauffeur. I’ve got the destination and stops along the way already mapped out. Be at ease.

Down Time

You will have the strength for what you need to do, but don’t neglect your need for rest, also. Down time is just as important as accomplishing tasks. Don’t overwork yourself. So many times I watch you striving so hard for goals which I have not set for you. I design your days with bits and pieces of a much bigger picture. Although you cannot envision that as fully as I do, I simply ask you to listen to My call and trust My guidance along the way. I will not push more upon you than you can reasonably carry. Examine your plans to see what is designed by Me vs. what is designed by the world. Reduce or eliminate tasks that bury you with needless stress, worry, or anxiety. I don’t want to exhaust your reserves. Trust that I will help you carry that which is truly important, then rest accordingly when the day is done.
