Move Into the Passenger Seat

All is well. Even in times that feel chaotic and busy, this can still be a foundational truth. The true bottom line is that I am in control, and I make all things work together unto Good. Sometimes you have to move over and let Me drive, though. Life could be easier for you if you allowed yourself to rest comfortably in My passenger seat. Don’t be mistaken by thinking you have to plan for and control everything all the time. Try the ride from the passenger seat today and see what I mean.

Step Back and Be Calmed

When you find yourself in a place where you are super worked up about something, it is probably time to step back. Remove yourself and check your thoughts to see if you are being tripped up by thinking “it’s all up to me” to handle or fix or address. That simply isn’t true. I am your God. I am sovereign over all things. Step back until you can see and be reminded of this deep truth: that as your God, I am with you and looking out for you. Maybe I only need you to show up and offer your presence, because I’ll handle the rest. Leave any “fixing” up to My capable hands. I want you to find peace again, not living agitatedly with anxious and stress-filled approaches. Step back, breathe, and be calmed by how I am at work in your life.

When Others Are Dealing With Troubles

It’s okay to feel content even when others are dealing with troubles of their own. You don’t have to feel guilty about this. There are ebbs and tides to all of life’s struggles. No matter how hard you try, you’ll never be able to fix everything for others. Even with Me in your life, there may be unresolved troubles and worries. Let Me help you show love and compassion to those you care about. I never promised a trouble-free life, but I do offer peace. Being content and releasing any concerns about things beyond your control to Me will help you experience peace. My capacity to heal is far-reaching and available to all. Allow Me to renew your hope and to take care of those you love.

So You Can Breathe Easier

I am your God, and able to be sovereign over your life in Good ways if you let Me. Allow Me the authority to help shape your thoughts and guide your actions today. Find how freeing it is to let go of all the things you think you can or should try to control, and instead watch with curiosity to see how I make things turn out when you give me free reign. You have the power to do that in your own mind and heart. Let Me in and allow Me to take over for a change so you can breathe easier. I love you and I desire to give you peace.

Not Awfulizing Emotions

There are ebbs and tides of difficult emotions that naturally come and go in this life, You can endure them all reasonably well as you lean into My companionship. I face all of these with you, pointing out when you are overreacting or assuming too much responsibility. Instead of chastising yourself or trying desperately to control things that distress you, pick them up and hold them to My Light. Together, let’s observe what is going on and gently set it down, not succumbing to awfulizing emotions or letting fear of the unknown overwhelm you. I will always help you bear what is. Breathe in trust of My helping hand.

Give Others the Chance to Step Up

I have good plans in store. I am a trustworthy God with a greater design at work than what might be visible to your mind’s eye. I’ll help you step back when it’s time to listen and not respond. Watch as I orchestrate giving others the chance to step up to the plate. See how it’s not all up to you. I can take care of you in ways such as this when you relinquish your frantic attempts to be in control. Things don’t always have to go your way to be good. Sometimes a change in plans works out better. You are safe in My arms; trust Me to be there at all times.

It’s Not All Up to You to Resolve

Why do you have such a heavy heart? I see you carrying the weight of the world around sometimes, but it’s not yours to have to worry about. I will put you in places where your presence and attention to others is most needed, but it’s not all up to you to resolve everything. Leave their concerns, illnesses, situations, choices, and consequences for Me to attend to. I’m fully capable of handling it all. Be gentle with yourself today, giving permission to not be perfect or “on top of everything”. Some things will ultimately be out of your control, but you can trust Me endlessly.

Share the Load

I am trying to perk up your spirit. I don’t want you walking around all stooped over by the weight of the world. Choose intentionally to share that load with Me so that you can walk with ease more. That sounds simple, but may take extra effort on your part to change old habits of hyper-responsibility. Ask for My help to recognize when you are assuming more oversight and control than is needed or required of you. Learning to share the load will do you good.

Remove Your Hyper-Responsibility

I want you to work on removing yourself from hyper-responsibility. The world and all of its happenings are not yours to take care of; they belong to Me. Even though I appreciate your good intentions, I want to help you step down from feeling overly responsible for planning, preparing, and outcomes beyond your control. The healthier way to live is to acknowledge My Sovereignty while doing your part to contribute under My direction. Let Me help take the weight off your shoulders. Relax a little more; you don’t have to lead all of the time.

Picture Me Making Things Better
