Avoid Preoccupation With Future Things

You can avoid preoccupation with future things. Don’t let yourself get tripped up with obsessive thoughts about situations and results that may never actually occur. Stay close to Me, your Shepherd. I know what is over the horizon. Let Me lead you on steady paths. Please, don’t try to race ahead in your thoughts or actions. You’ll only waste precious energy and create needless worry for yourself. Enjoy resting at My feet for a while. Allow Me to take over the planning for tomorrow, and the day after that. Enjoy the scenery of where I have brought you to today.

Tired and Fatigued

You may not be as tired as you think. Stress and anxiety can make you over-think plans for your life instead of trusting in My shepherding. Feel the gentle nudge of My staff reminding you that I am leading the way. Your only job is to follow. When you busy your mind with planning and worries you can easily become frazzled and feel fatigued by it all. Wash yourself free of needless worry. Refresh yourself in My basin of Grace where streams of abundance flow. Allow Me to lead you into this day, entrusting all encounters and tasks on the journey to Me. See how your energy rebounds, supplying you with the bounce in your step needed to traverse the hills ahead.

Your Busy Head Needs Time Off

I need all of you. Not just a little bit like leftovers after a full meal has been dished out. I want your whole self committed to Me: your work time and your leisure. Part of giving Me your whole self means paying attention to how you find balance. I call you to intentionally set aside time for rest and for “play” because your busy head needs time off. Fill your cup with My reservoir of love by spending time with others you enjoy and who love you back. See what this can do to renew your heart.

The Unexpected

Look for My hand in the unexpected today. In silent observation, take note of how I call you to act, respond, interact, or receive, – learning to recognize that it may be precisely the unexpected change in plan where My greatest works are being accomplished. Take note of how I supply all you need: patience, endurance, compassion, persistence, energy, then rest. I will equip you fully in this day. Practice trusting Me in these experiences and you will find My peace that goes beyond understanding.

Not So Hard On Yourself

My work will get done. It always does, in due time. The trick is to not be so hard on yourself. Adjust your pace and relax into the day. Life’s struggles are behind you, and I give you memories and experiences to harvest now. All is well. Know Me. Find this quiet time as ripe organic matter fueling you with life-giving material. Enjoy this new phase of knowing I hand everything to you without expectations beyond your capacity. I only call you to what comes naturally.

High Bar of Expectation

Try not to set yourself up for “failure”. Too often you measure your value by how consistently pleasant, productive, happy, energetic, etc., you are. If you get caught by unplanned demands that cause irritation or setbacks, you become frustrated and irrationally believe you’ll be “falling short”. This high bar of expectation can become damaging to you. Living My way requires flexibility with trust. Know that all things can be accomplished in due time if they are taken on as part of My purpose and My plan. Sometimes it’s in the unplanned events that I am most able to do Good works.

Replenishment

I don’t call you to a life that is HARDER. The slowing of your pace or productivity, if done for My Purposes, is totally acceptable. There are times requiring much of your focus and energy, but I am also a God of replenishment. The world’s standards and demands can pull you in many directions, yet I call you to simplify. Ask for My Guidance as you discern when to move and when to rest; when to interact and when to be still. In all things, know that I am God.

Get Going

Get up. Get going! We have things to do together today! Be ignited and excited by our partnership in the tasks ahead of you. Think of Me as your business partner – equally invested and fully “in” for the long-haul. Don’t get caught up in calculating the return on that investment or worrying about productivity. Take on the work at hand as if it’s mission work: done with love and passion without thinking of the payoff. Whether in big or small tasks, lay it all down at the end of the day, trusting that it’s enough. That’s all I ask of you.

Do One Thing

As you get better at slowing down, you will also get better at finding calmness. When pressure and anxiety start to build in your head, take down one piece at a time from the mound of to-dos. Set all else aside, trusting Me to help you find the time to address each thing. I want you to see how effective reliance upon Me can be. Practice this “do one thing” method for an hour and see what we can get done together as you invest your trust in My provision. It doesn’t all have to be done in a day. I’ll supply what you need as you leave the rest to Me.

Acknowledge Your Anger

It’s alright to acknowledge your anger when it arises. In fact, it’s important to pick it up, examine it without judging it as “good” or “bad”, and then set it down at My feet. Let your anger rest there, entrusted to Me so that you can move on. If you keep grabbing it back, I cannot help as much as I’d like. You don’t have to spend so much energy wallowing in fury or petty annoyances. I attend to you and all of your emotions with Grace and healing, calling you to peaceful living.
